Some 3,000 supporters of Albania"s opposition gathered Friday outside the government building in Tirana, demanding a repeat of the general elections, held in June, dpa quoted local media as reporting. Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha"s party won the June 28 elections and holds 75 seats in a 140-seat parliament. The Socialist opposition did not recognize the result and boycotted parliament, calling for a probe into allegations of vote rigging. Opposition supporters gathered in front of the government building on Friday afternoon and Socialist leader Edi Rama said the protest will last for at least three days. No incidents of violence have been reported.
