Saudi Ambassador to Niger Ibrahim bin Ali Abdulhaq has said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has provided Niger with great assistance amounting to nearly SR 600 million over the last thirty years contributing to the development of vital sectors particularly education, health, security, food, and information. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Ambassador has pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has provided Niger with more than SR 386.9 million as non-refundable aid for humanitarian and Islamic purposes as well as more than SR 210.6 million as loans from Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), for implementation of projects in the fields of economy, roads, housing, education, drilling wells, storage of grain and rural development. He stressed that the Kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, has been extending assistances to developing countries , emanating from its leading Islamic role and humanitarian stands.
