French forces say insurgents have fired at least two rockets on a crowded marketplace in the town of Tagab, northeast of Kabul, where the head of the French forces in Afghanistan was holding a meeting with tribal elders. Capt. Michel, who can only be identified by his first name according to French policy, says three children were killed and another three people were seriously wounded. The Associated Press quoted the French military as saying that the attack appeared to have been targeting Brig. Gen. Marcel Druart, who was holding the meeting in the marketplace with elders from the Tagab Valley. He was not injured as the rockets missed the meeting, known as a "shura," and struck elsewhere in the marketplace.
