Brazil"s state-run oil company said Friday it cannot confirm a claim by Peru"s president that it has made a huge natural-gas find in Peru. Petroleos Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) said it will analyze its findings after drilling a 4,000-meter well in the Peruvian jungle and that it will be several weeks before it announces either the size or the commercial viability of the field. On Thursday, Peruvian President Alan Garcia said Petrobras had made an enormous discovery in Cuzco province. If accurate, Garcia said it would help ensure Peru"s natural-gas supply for four decades.
