Official sources issues statement
Published in Saudi Press Agency on 06 - 11 - 2009

A statement has been issued Supplementing an earlier statement on discovering the presence of armed men who infiltrated into the site of Jabal Dokhan inside the Saudi territories near the border center of Khalb in the sector of Alkhobah in the region of Jazan on Tuesday. Those infiltrators fired and carried out acts of sniping against border guard patrols resulting in the martyrdom of private first class Turki bin Salim Alqahtani, wounding 11 others and burning six cars belonging to the border guard as well as the attempts to cross through borderline villages. As the kingdom stressed that it will carry out the necessary measures to maintain the security of the homeland, protect its borders and deter infiltrators from any side, an official source said that the following measures have been taken:
1- As soon as the infiltration acts began, the borderline villages within the vicinity of the action were evacuated to safer places.
2- The Saudi Armed Forces have taken a number of measures including:
- supplying the Border Guard with a number of Armed Forces units.
- carrying concentrated air strikes on the presence of infiltrators in Jabal Dokhan as well as other targets within the perimeter of the operations inside the Saudi territories.
- silencing the sources of fire by the infiltrators.
- taking full control over the other locations in which the infiltrators tried to stay.
The official source added that "the entry of these infiltrators into Saudi territories, the killing and wounding of Border Guard soldiers as well as their presence on Saudi soil are all considered a violation of sovereignty that gives the Kingdom every right to take all measures to end this illegitimate presence. Therefore, the operations will continue until all locations within Saudi territories have been completely and fully cleared of any hostile element. We will also take all necessary precautions to prevent any future similar incidents".
