The International Islamic Fiqh Academy called on Muslim pilgrims to adhere to the teachings of Islam regarding conduct during their performance of rituals in the two holy mosques and the holy places. This came in a statement issued today by Secretary General of the academy Dr. Abdulsalam Daood Ala"abbadi. The statement urged pilgrims to feel the sacredness of the place and the sanctity of the time during the performance of the Islamic rituals. The statement explained that the two goals of Hajj are benefit for the ummah (the Islamic nation) and the individuals and the worship of God. The statement highlighted the importance of the unity of the ummah and the avoidance of dividing it as well as the importance of maintaining security at the holy places for the pilgrims to perform Hajj and Umrah (minor Hajj) easily and safely. The academy"s statement stressed the need for the pilgrims" adherence to good conduct, security maintenance and teachings of Hajj. The statement added that pilgrims should abide by the instructions organizing the affairs of Hajj. The academy valued the Saudi great efforts to organize the affairs of Hajj and serve the two holy mosques and holy places.
