The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, will start a three-day official visit to Bangladesh on November 03, in response to an invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Dipu Moni. The Secretary General will hold bilateral meetings with the leadership of Bangladesh including the President and the Prime Minister and other high ranking government officials to discuss issues of cooperation and mutual concern between the OIC and Bangladesh as well as regional and international issues, said an OIC press release issued here yesterday. Ihsanoglu will pay a visit to the Islamic Foundation and preside over, along with the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina Wazed, the 23rd Convocation ceremony of the Islamic University of Technology (IUT), which is a subsidiary organ of the OIC. On the agenda of his visit, the Secretary General is also expected to visit Dhaka University and deliver a keynote speech entitled “OIC's Vision Meeting the Challenges of the 21st Century” in a seminar which will be organized as part of Bangladesh"s celebration of the OIC 40th Anniversary.
