Prince General Fahd bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Saud, Commander of Saudi Royal Navy, said today that the duty of the naval forces of the Arab Gulf countries and the Arab Red Sea countries as well is the preservation of the Red Sea, Arab Gulf and Aden Gulf security. He pointed out to the importance of these water routes for regional and international navigation, citing that more than 21,000 commercial vessels sail across them annually. In a press briefing following the joint conference for Naval Forces Commanders of the GCC and the Arab Red Sea countries in Jeddah, Prince Fahd bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Saud said the security of this crucial region is a collective duty of the countries located on their shores. --SPA
