Quds, October 08, SPA -- Washington's special Mideast envoy is back in the region trying to get Israelis and Palestinians talking peace again, AP reported. Thursday's visit is George Mitchell's first since a three-way meeting among President Barack Obama, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in New York last month. Mitchell has already met with representatives of both sides in the U.S. since that summit, but no breakthroughs were announced. Palestinians don't want to resume negotiations before Israel completely halts construction in east Jerusalem and the West Bank, but Israel has refused. The Palestinians also want Israel to resume negotiations where they broke off months ago. Netanyahu has said he is not bound by the actions of the previous government. -- SPA
