The Israeli occupation forces handed over a number of notifications of house demolition to Palestinian civilians in the village of Kissan to the east of Bethlehem. These notifications indicated that the Israeli forces will carry out the demolitions if Palestinians did not demolish their own houses within a week, Palestinian sources said today. The sources quoted Husayn Ali Audah Ghazal of Kissan village as saying that Israeli soldiers handed over demolition notices of his house and two other houses belonging to his children in the same village. He explained that the soldiers threatened to demolish the houses a week after the date of receipt of such notifications under the pretext of building without a permit. The occupation forces handed over other notices to the rural council and other civilian houses to expedite the demolition of buildings built without a license in accordance with the Israeli authorities. He pointed out that the Israeli bulldozers had already destroyed his house more than once with the same pretext and excuses. He also demanded that Palestinian official authorities, media and human rights groups should work together to raise this important issue and stand firmly in support of these people in the face of such risks.
