A number of American personalities have highlighted the Kingdom's national day and lauded the Kingdom's leading role in the Muslim world. In a statement to SPA, Keith Allison, the member of the Congress, congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz on the occasion of the national day, and described opening of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) as a great event. He also praised the Kingdom's efforts for realizing peace in the middle east through the Arab peace initiative and its positive role at the international arena. On his part Frank Anderson, the member of the council of the middle east policies, highlighted the existing distinguished relations between Riyadh and Washington. On the other hand David Hamoud, the chairman of the Arab-American chamber of commerce, hailed the achievements accomplished by the Kingdom in several domains. He pointed out that opening of KAUST embodies the aspirations of King Abdullah to build a society based on science and knowledge.
