Hong Kong reported Monday another fatal case of Influenza A/H1N1, bringing to 16 the total number of fatal cases of the special flu in the city, Xinhua reported. A 37-year-old male patient suffering from Influenza A/H1N1 died at the Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital on Monday morning, says a statement from the hospital. The man developed flu symptoms on Sept. 1 and was admitted to the hospital on Sept. 5. Positive result of Influenza A/H1N1 was confirmed the same day and the patient was prescribed with Tamifluand antibiotics. His condition deteriorated further that day and was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit and put on ventilation support. His condition continued to deteriorate and he succumbed at 8:35 a.m. Monday, says the statement, noting that the patient had good past health. The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Center for Health Protection, according to the statement.
