Officials and witnesses say insurgents attacked a Somali government base in the capital and killed five civilians while leaving more than 25 people wounded, AP reported. Witness Omar Abdi says a woman and two children were among the five bodies he saw after the attack at sundown Monday in southern Mogadishu. The head of Mogadishu ambulance services Ali Muse says most of the 25 wounded they collected were civilians. Military spokesman Sheik Abdirisak Mohamed Qeylow says there were no casualties on the government side. Somalia's U.N.-backed government is battling insurgents who have threatened to violently seize Mogadishu and overthrow the Western-backed government. -- SPA
