A number of dignitaries today condemned the foiled attempt on the life of Prince Mohammed bin Naif, Assistant Minister of Interior for Security Affairs, which took place last night. In separate cables, they congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, and Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, on the safety of Prince Mohammed bin Naif after an unsuccessful attempt by a wanted terrorist who blew himself up in the vicinity of the prince inflicting him minor injuries. They were Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, Speaker of the Saudi Shoura Council; Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmohsen Al-Turki, Secretary General of the Muslim World League; Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkareem Al-Isa, Minister of Justice; and Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humain Al-Humain, Chief of the Commission for Propagation of virtue and Prevention of Vice. They confirmed that the attempt is yet another proof of the failure of the logic of terrorists. They congratulated the Kingdom's security authorities on narrowing the circle around the terrorist neck, leaving a few members of them to resort to blowing up themselves and most of them to put down weapons or flee at large.
