Tropical Storm Danny formed in the Atlantic Ocean off the Bahamas islands, and forecasters said it could strengthen as it moves toward the United States. Danny had top winds near 72 kilometers per hour (kph) and was moving west-northwest at 29 kph. At 1500 GMT, the storm's center was about 715 kilometers east of Nassau, Bahamas and about 1,250 kilometers south of North Carolina on the U.S. east coast. The current forecast has Danny on a path to brush the U.S. east coast over the weekend. Meanwhile, far out in the Pacific Ocean, Tropical Storm Ignacio has weakened as it moves northwest with top winds of 72 kph.
