Iran's official news agency says Revolutionary Guard troops have killed 26 Kurdish separatists in a series of raids in the country's northwest, AP reported. Sunday's IRNA report quotes the chief of the Guard's ground forces, Gen. Mohammed Pakpour, as saying the raids targeted the separatist group known as PEJAK, as well as the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Koumaleh Party. It did not provide further details or say when the raids took place. The groups say they are fighting for more rights for Iran's minority Kurds. Like neighboring Turkey, Iran has a restive Kurdish minority that includes armed elements fighting for greater autonomy. -- SPA
