The number of Al-Jahra fire victims has risen up to 44, KUNA quoted a spokesman for the Kuwaiti Interior Ministry as saying. The rise in the fire death toll came as a new case was reported from hospital, Colonel Mohammed al-Saber said in a news release. A fire had swept through a wedding marquee at Al-Jahra area, leaving over 40 women and children killed and scores injured. The disaster was worsened by the stampede which took place after the fire took hold.
