Kuwaiti Ambassador to Canada Musaed Al-Haroun has placed the cornerstone for Ottawa's second largest mosque, the construction costs of which were donated by the State of Kuwait. A statement issued by Kuwait Embassy on Saturday said that the cornerstone was laid during a celebration held by the Muslim community, whose members expressed their appreciation to the State of Kuwait for its generous donation. On this occasion, Ambassador Al-Haroun said that this contribution came out of Kuwait's keenness for supporting charitable projects around the world, and out of its belief in the importance of creating strong bases for Muslim communities in different countries. He said the donation was made upon orders from Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who has always been keen on providing the needs of Muslim communities everywhere, according to a report of KUNA.
