A high-level delegation from the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) led by Ambassador Sayyed Qasem Al-Masri, Advisor to OIC Secretary General on Muslim Minorities has left for the Chinese capital. OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu will later be visiting Beijing upon an invitation from the Chinese government to follow up conditions of the Muslim majority in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, according to a press release of the OIC quoted by the UAE news agency "WAM". The delegation is expected to make field visits to Xinjiang region and other regions to take stock of the conditions of Chinese Muslims in general.
