British Foreign Minister David Miliband condemned Iran's espionage trial of a local employee of Britain's embassy in Tehran on Saturday, saying the charges were unjustified and brought discredit to Iran, Reuters reported. Miliband said he had received support from France, which has a national facing similar charges, and from Sweden, which holds the European Union presidency. "We have reaffirmed our solidarity in the face of this latest Iranian provocation," Miliband said. Britain had earlier described the trial as an "outrage" and said it breached assurances given by senior Iranian officials after the embassy worker, political analyst Hossein Rassam, was released on bail. "I am deeply concerned by the unjustified charges today laid against Hossein Rassam in Tehran," Miliband said.
