Strong quake hits off New Zealand

A 6.1 magnitude earthquake
struck off the New Zealand coast on Wednesday, the United
States Geological Survey said.
The quake was centered 116 miles (186 km) west northwest of
Invercargill with a depth of 6.5 miles, USGS was quoted as saying by REUTERS.
