Heavy rains kill 5 in landslides, floods in Japan

Heavy rains hammered southern Japan,
destroying homes and setting off floods and landslides that
left at least five people dead on the island of Kyushu,
police said Saturday.
Recent downpours have wreaked havoc in the region. Heavy
rain caused a nursing home in Yamaguchi Prefecture on the
main island of Honshu to be buried in thick mud on Tuesday,
killing 14 people.
