About 150 Turks are protesting outside the German Consulate in Istanbul to denounce the stabbing of an Egyptian woman in a German court, according to AP. The protesters, who emerged from Friday prayers from a nearby mosque, are shouting slogans in support of Marwa al-Sherbini, a pregnant 31-year-old, who was stabbed 18 times in a Dresden court July 1. She was scheduled to testify against a man accused of insulting her with racial slurs. Her husband was critically wounded in the attack. Her death has caused outrage across the Muslim world.
