The World Youth Track and Field championship for the disabled opened here today with the participation of athletes from different parts of the world. The Saudi ambassador to Switzerland Hazem Karkotly lauded the attention paid by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the disabled in the Kingdom, enabling them to participate in domestic and foreign tournaments. Following the opening ceremony, Jamaan Al-Zahrani, a Saudi athlete qualified for the finals of the 100 meters race after having scored the fourth place in the qualifying race.
