An aide says former South Korean President Kim Dae-Jung is in an intensive care unit being treated for pneumonia, but that his condition is not critical. Aide Choi Gyung-hwan says Kim was transferred to the unit at Seoul's Severance Hospital on Wednesday to prevent complications arising from the disease and so the best emergency facilities are quickly available if needed. Choi says the 85-year-old Kim is conscious and has no problem breathing. Kim was admitted to the hospital Monday with a fever and signs of a cold, the Associated Press reported. He served as President from 1998 to 2003, and won the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts at reconciliation with North Korea.
