Several hundred people are expected to gather later today at the Potocari Memorial Park in Bosnia to mark the 14th anniversary of the 1995 Srebrenica massacre. The remains of 534 victims will be buried later in the day. So far a total of 3,749 identified bodies have been buried at the Potocari park, according to a report of the German News Agency "DPA". On July 11, 1995 Bosnian Serb troops entered the UN-protected enclave Srebrenica and killed more than 8,000 Muslims. Some 30,000 people were expelled from their homes. The European parliament in January declared July 11th a "Day of Commemoration" of the Srebrenica massacre. The resolution called upon all countries aspiring to become EU member states to support the resolution on Srebrenica. So far Montenegro and Croatia support the resolution, while Serbia and Bosnia do not. In 2002, the entire Dutch cabinet resigned after a report found its peace-keeping forces responsible for failing to prevent the Serb troops entering the camp. The UN war crimes tribunal in the Hague indicted Bosnian Serb leaders Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic for war crimes. Karadzic was arrested and handed to the Hague International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) last year, while Mladic is still on the run.
