South Korea plans to spend 193 billion won ($151.8 million) to secure its vaccine stockpile for the new H1N1 influenza covering 13 million people, or 27 percent of its population, health ministry said on Friday, according to Reuters. South Korea has so far 241 confirmed cases of the flu and 46 of them were quarantined, with the rest fully recovered. It has reported no deaths from the virus, which has inflected over 79,000 people worldwide, killing at least 337. The country has antiviral drug to cover 2.5 million people and recently signed deals to secure an additional 2.7 million doses of Tamiflu and Relenza, which would increase its total stockpile to cover 10 percent of its population of about 49 million.
