Saudi Press underscores the importance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz attending a summit meeting along with Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak and King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa of Bahrain in Sharm El-Sheikh, which focused on reconciling Palestinian factions and unifying them. The Press also noted the significance of King's Abdullah's bilateral meeting with President Mubarak in Sharm El-Sheikh, which came in less than 48 hours of the Saudi-Egyptian summit held earlier in Jeddah. In an editorial entitled 'Reconciliation -- a Saudi priority', the Jeddah-based Al-Madinah highlighted the timely intensive efforts of the Saudi and Egyptian leaderships, which are determined to clear the Arab atmosphere and to carry out the reconciliation initiative presented by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz at Kuwait's economic summit in letter and spirit as well as putting an end to the Palestinian disunity as well as accelerating the process of the formation of the Lebanese government. "The observer of the political developments in the region either through the efforts being exerted by Cairo to reconcile Hamas and Fatah, or the efforts being exerted by Riyadh for the restoration of the Arab solidarity in addition to the joint Saudi-Egyptian efforts to accelerate the peace process, will undoubtedly realize the determination of the Saudi and Egyptian leaderships to attain reconciliation because lack of reconciliation and continuation of differences will have an adverse impact on the stability of the region. The successful contacts made by the Kingdom with a number of Arab countries reiterate the keenness of the Kingdom on realizing a genuine and comprehensive Arab reconciliation. "Realization of Arab reconciliation through the on-going efforts constitutes an important step on the path of Palestinian reconciliation, which means that there is no other alternative except the reconciliation option." --MORE
