The Universal Peace Federation (UPF) appointed recently Dr. Ziyad Abdullah Al Darees, The Permanent Saudi representative to UNESCO as the Ambassador of Peace. "The title of ambassador of peace is granted to the exemplary figures who live for others and engage in activities designed to disseminate and support the universal moral values, coherent family life, inter-faith cooperation and harmony between peoples, modernization of the United Nations Organization, the responsible media and the establishment of a culture of peace," the document reads. The document concluded by saying that The Federation for World Peace is honored to select Ziad Aldrees as ambassador of peace. During his meeting with Dr. Aldrees at the UNESCO's headquarters, UPF representative at UNESCO commended Aldrees efforts in the promotion of linguistic diversity within UNESCO, as well as highlighting the values of tolerance and pluralism in his interventions and engagement in lectures and press, which qualified him to be one of personalities chosen by the World Federation to carry the honorary title.
