World leaders in politics and business, scientists and thinkers are meeting in Sweden to discuss how the world can respond to global financial and environmental crises, according to AP. The Tallberg forum brings together 400 environmentally concerned leaders for five days of discussions and seminars. At a news conference Thursday, President Emanuel Mori of Micronesia said climate change has already impacted some of the country's islands, including some only 18 inches (90 centimeters) above sea level. Bo Ekman, the chairman of the Tallberg Foundation, questioned whether leading governments and businesses can address what Swedish scientist Johan Rockstrom called, «a planetary state of emergency.» The forum's theme this year is: «How on earth can we live together, within the planetary boundaries?»
