The Executive Council for the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW), an affiliate of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), will hold here on Sunday its 14th session under the chairmanship of Dr Abdullah Jassebi, the President of the Tehran-based Azad Islamic university. Dr Suleiman Abal-Khail, the Rector of Imam Mohammed Bin Saud Islamic University, said the participants of the two-day meeting will review the report submitted by Dr Abdulaziz Al-Tuweijiri, ISESCO's Director General, on ISESCO's activities as well as FUIW's financial situation for 2008. The Council's agenda will also include the project of the Islamic Virtual University; the project of the Islamic Universities Business Network' the project of Federation's Prize for University Research, and the University Education programme of action for countering the denigration of Islam and Muslims. The FUIW Executive Council will also consider the membership applications of fifteen universities and institutes, based inside and outside the Muslim World. Dr Abdulaziz Othman Al-Tuwaijri, Secretary General of the FUIW and Director General of ISESCO, will inaugurate the FUIW meeting.
