A bomb strapped to a parked bicycle exploded near a construction office in southern Afghanistan on Thursday, killing one employee and a child about 11 years old, police said, according to AP. It was unclear whether the construction company was the target of the attack in the city of Kandahar. The city's deputy police chief, Abdulah Khan, said officers were investigating but did not yet know if the attack was connected to the Taliban insurgency. Khan said four employees of the construction company were wounded in the blast.
