Remains of a World War I German submarine U72 were discovered in the Montenegrin waters of the Adriatic Sea, dpa cited local Radio Kotor as reporting today. The submarine was sunk by its own crew in November 1918, after the capitulation of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Montenegrin experts along with the US ship Hercules found the remains in Boka Kotorska Bay, near Kotor port. The researchers also found the remains of another vessel, newer than the submarine. Radio Kotor reported that the exact location of the submarine would not be disclosed out of fear of looting.
