Ogarevo, June 08, SPA -- The Russian economy received 12 billion dollars of foreign investments in the first quarter of the year, Itar-Tass quoted Prime Minister Vladimir Putin as saying at a session of the government commission for foreign investments in Russia on Monday. “The amount of foreign investments in the Russian economy in the first quarter declined in connection with the world financial and economic crisis,” Putin said. “This is clear, but still the Russian economy received 12 billion dollars of foreign investments,” he stressed. “This is less than last year, but nevertheless it means that our foreign partners maintain confidence in long-term prospects of the Russian market, its post-crisis restoration and growth,” Putin believes.
