Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Makkah Region, inaugurated here on Saturday evening Social Development Forum titled "From Patronage to Sustainment" organized by Majed bin Abdulaziz Association for Development and Social Services. The inaugural ceremony was attended by Prince Misha'al bin Majed bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Jeddah. Addressing the ceremony, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, expressed his thanks to and appreciation of the King, describing the King supported by the Crown Prince as the leader of developmental, scientific, economic, and political spheres. Prince Misha'al bin Majed, who is also Chairman of the Association's Board of Directors and President of the Forum stressed in his speech that now there are programs of social and economic development with the participation of the private sector and women, adding that remote rural areas have been turned into workshops and active areas in achieving sustainable development. In another speech via a closed-circuit television, Princess Al-Bandari bint Abdulrahman Al-Faisal, the Director General of King Khalid Foundation said that the amount of the charity given in the Gulf region is estimated at about $15 billion. On his part, the Minister of Social Affairs, Dr. Yosef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen commended in his speech the Association and its objectives as well as its patronization by Prince Khalid Al-Faisal.
