At least 20 demonstrators were arrested in Russia at a protest against the economic policies of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin today, according to dpa. Around 200 anti-government demonstrators took part in the protest in central Moscow despite a government ban on the gathering, Echo Moskvy radio reported. There was a strong presence of security forces in the capital. Prominent opposition leader Eduard Limonov, who heads Russia's National Bolshevik Party was among those taken into police custody. The global financial crisis is taking a toll on the Russia population, with rising prices and unemployment.
