Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, currently visiting the Kingdom, expressed his happiness at the visit as well as meeting with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. In a Statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Saleh said that "this visit comes in the context of enhancing fraternal as well as distinguished relations between the two countries based on the historic ties, common interests and good neighborliness". He also explained that the summit will focus on enhancing relations on all levels whether be they political, economic or security affairs as well as taking bilateral cooperation to a higher level. He also added that points of view on regional as well as international issues will be exchanged citing the King as "the first sponsor of Arab reconciliation and unity". He also extended his thanks to the King for his efforts in bringing about Arab unity as well as his support for a secure, stable and unified Yemen. President Saleh also urged Saudi businessmen to invest in Yemen as a way of enhancing partnership as well as mutual interests.
