A group of 340 Spanish soldiers came out of quarantine at a Madrid barracks today after being confined for nine days following an outbreak of the new H1N1 flu virus, Reuters quoted the health ministry as saying today. Madrid's Hoyo de Manzanares Engineering Academy has confirmed 29 cases of the virus and a further 23 military personnel from the barracks remain under observation. The health ministry said a further 13 people, including civilians, had caught the virus after coming into contact with military personnel at the Hoyo academy. Spain has so far confirmed 169 cases of the new H1N1 flu virus which has infected at least 15,600 people globally and killed 113 people, most of them in Mexico.
