The UN Security Council held an emergency meeting Monday to discuss the new challenge presented by North Korea's testing of a nuclear device. The 15-nation council met in a closed-door session after the council's five permanent members - the United States, Russia, China, Britain and France - along with Japan and South Korea held a separate meeting to consider action against the Pyongyang government, DPA reported. Diplomats said the Council most likely would issue a statement on the event.
