Kyrgyzstan says it has closed its border with Uzbekistan after riots were reported in an Uzbek region. Kyrgyzstan's border guard service said Tuesday that the violence took place in the Uzbek region of Andijan. Andijan is located in the Fergana Valley, which has seen regular outbreaks of ethnic and religious violence. Russian and Kyrgyz media say gunfire and explosions have been reported along the border between the two Central Asian nations.
