Prince Saud Alfaisal, the Foreign Minister, described the speech delivered by Syrian President Bashar Alasad today at the opening of the 36th session of the council of foreign ministers of Islamic countries as good and comprehensive focusing on the results and not only on taking decisions. In a press statement, Prince Saud said, "The speech of President Alasad should be a course paper for the conference and we should apply his advises that we should rely on ourselves, take the measures that guarantee our interests and protect our homelands. These are all good goals and endeavors." Prince Saud called on the Arab countries, especially the Palestinians, to unite in confronting the challenges they face at the hands of the Israeli enemy ... noting that the Arab League is exerting efforts to criminalize Israel for the crimes it committed during its aggression against the Gaza Strip and to stop the hostilities practiced against the Palestinian people especially in the city of occupied Alquds to erase its Islamic features." Prince Saud asked the new US administration to pressure Israel to reach peace pointing out the importance of support by the Islamic countries for the Arab counties and their causes especially the cause of Palestine.
