Bangladeshi lawmakers are to travel to Germany Sunday for a visit aimed at strengthening ties between parliamentarians of the two countries, dpa cited officials as saying today. The seven-member delegation of the Jatiya Sangsad, or national Parliament, would include lawmakers from the ruling Awami League and Jatiya Party, and the opposition Bangladesh Nationalist party. Aside from meeting their counterparts in the German Bundestag, the delegation also planned to meet German civil society groups and trade union leaders during the six-day visit that follows a recent visit to Bangladesh by German lawmakers.
