Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the advisor to the King and member of the board of directors of King Abdulaziz public library and head of the prize's trustees board, will honor on Tuesday (May 26, 2009), in Casablanca winners of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' prizes in translation. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency, Faisal bin Abdulrahman Al-Muammar, the Supervisor General of the Library, said the prize embodies the King's vision as regards enhancing cultural contacts among the nations. The success attained by this cultural and scientific project is a fruit of the Monarch's directives for cementing dialogue among civilizations. He noted that the King is keen on spreading the values of dialogue and culture and discarding strife. Bin Muammar hoped that the prize would positively contribute to activation of the translation movement from Arabic to other languages and the vice-versa. Bin Muammar said the winners were selected in line with accurate standards set by specialists and experts in the field of translation.
