Brazil's President focused on his country's growing trade and investment with China as he arrived Monday for a summit between two of the world's largest developing nations. Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, due to meet with Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao and other top leaders Tuesday, will also preside over a business forum and the opening of a Brazilian studies center at the official Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The three-day talks were expected to focus on expanding ties, as well as the use of renewable fuels, the prevention of global protectionism and the ongoing economic crisis. Before departing Wednesday, he was also scheduled to visit the Chinese Aerospace Technology Agency to underscore cooperation and competition between the two nations. China builds a licensed version of Brazil's Embraer passenger jets, but also produces its own rival aircraft, Associated Press reported.
