A 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa was auctioned off for 9 million euros (12.2 million dollars) today, setting a new record price for classic cars, dpa quoted the Ansa news agency as reported. The car was auctioned off in the northern Italian city of Maranello. The racing car, chassis number 0714/%$, was one of 34 of the Testa Rossa line, which won acclaim throughout North and South America for a series of victories in auto races. The winning bid was about 2 million euros higher than the amount paid out last year for a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spider that had been previously owned by actor James Coburn. The winner of the auction remained unidentified.
