BMW is to increase output at one of its German factories, thanks to solid demand for its 1 Series cars in Germany, chief executive Norbert Reinhofer told shareholders at an annual meeting Today, according to dpa. The site in Leipzig, eastern Germany, would go from one shift to two shifts daily next month to satisfy demand. But a stand-down of many workers at BMW's main plant at Dingolfing near Munich, which makes bigger 5 Series and 7 Series cars, would continue.
