Authorities in Maryland said Thursday that six people were seriously injured after a gas explosion in a local shopping mall. Fire department spokesman Mark Brady told the Associated Press that emergency crews were called Thursday afternoon after a report of a natural gas leak. Authorities quickly evacuated the shops and an explosion followed shortly afterwards, causing significant damage to the mall. Five of the injured were firefighters. Brady told AP that a gas company employee was working on a gas line at the time of the blast.
