based Al-Nadwa said the policy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is characterized by frankness and clearness because it has nothing to be ashamed of. The paper noted that the Palestinian and the Mideast peace problems constitute top priority for the Kingdom's efforts and initiatives. "The Kingdom is keen on bringing about peace in the Middle East region and for this reason it has been making great sacrifices," said the paper. "Taking all that into account, we believe that the statement of William Burns in which he said that the Custodian the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz had spoken with Israeli President Shimon Peres on the fringes of the conference of dialogue of religions' followers was untrue and fabricated," the daily elaborated. The entire world had followed up the meetings of the aforesaid conference and no one had seen King Abdullah speaking with Peres, otherwise the Israeli media would have shed light on the event (at that time itself), the paper said. The daily pointed out that King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz was keen on even avoiding shaking hands with Peres, because the King is fully aware of the fact that Israel has not yet made anything which deserves shaking hand with its leaders, and moreover the Arab peace initiative is on the table and it is awaiting the just and comprehensive peace, the daily added. The paper said the falsehood spelled out by William Burns does not only require immediate denial from the side of the US, but it also requires an interpretation for the causes of this falsehood, said the paper, adding that the Saudi-American relations are deep-rooted and strong but such lies do not serve the bilateral relations and the cause of peace in the region. --MORE
