The General Commission for Civil Defense stated today that no flight coming from a swine-flu-inflicted country was blocked to land in the Kingdom as the country is free of the epidemic, confirming that necessary measures were taken at all Saudi inlets to check suspects who might have contracted the disease. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, the President of GCCD Abdullah bin Mohammed Noor Rahimi said no flight was diverted from landing in the Kingdom as the WHO and ICAO's regulations don't advise the closure of airports in such cases but instead emphasize the enforcement of strict preventive measures in the air inlets. He added that the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has instructed all authorities concerned to check and take the necessary measures for suspected carriers of the disease.
