European Union health ministers will on Thursday discuss coordinating over possible restrictions on travel to and from Mexico following the outbreak of swine flu, Czech Health Minister Daniela Filipiova said, according to Reuters. "As regards possible coordination regarding travel restrictions to and from Mexico, this will certainly be discussed this afternoon," Filipiova, whose country holds the EU presidency, told reporters before a meeting of EU health ministers in Luxembourg. A European Commission official said on Wednesday EU countries can impose individual travel restrictions but the EU's executive cannot impose an EU-wide ban. France said earlier this week it would ask the EU health ministers to suspend all flights to Mexico because of the virus, which has killed up to 176 people in Mexico and is spreading around the world.
